Westy LPG tank

Help needed please.
Rebuilding tank after powder coat and don,t know which way up to fit the 80% fill valve with float,( it is a euro one, used with UK adaptor ) searched the threads but can,t find out if the "notch on the valve should be at the top or bottom as you look at the tank on the van.
Any ideas on which way up most welcome,
