Water pump for sink tap

Hi
Anyone help with an issue that has been driving me crazy!
My Reimo has an underslung water tank, with a pipe leading to a pump under the sink and then pipe to the sink tap.
It’s been working hit or miss since we bought the van 5 years ago, so I decided to replace the old, original
pump with a new inline one.
It works when I test it separate to the system, but when fitted, it whirs but no
water! I’ve checked the tubing to the tank and the filter and all is well
I guess the pump needs to be primed, but I’ve no idea how to
do it! I’ve tried sucking on the tap (strange looks from neighbours !) but no joy?
Any ideas? Maybe should have bought a self priming pump
Cheers
Bill

Are you sure it’s connected the right way round, so it is sucking from the tank ?,
Ideally it would be below the level of the water when the tank is full, so it self primes, but sucking on the tap should do it otherwise

Cheers Steve. Yes, I tested it by putting the input side into a bowl of water and it sucked really well. I’ve tried sucking ‘til I’m blue in the face but still won’t pump from the tank

You should be easily able to suck through the pump , so look for trappage of the pipe , or non return wrong way round

Can you blow in the tap and make the tank bubble ?
