Hi,

I’ve had a look in the forum and I can’t find anything regarding this. I have a side elevating roof on a Devon and I want to fit a Fiamma F45. However it seems that the mounting brackets for the fiamma mount on the same thin strip between the sliding door and the passengers door that the roof latch is attached to. I’m just wondering if anyone has found a solution to this. I’m wondering if it’s easier to mover the roof latches or it’s easier to fabricate some brackets for the fiamma. I’m not even sure if the fiamma will allow the catches to close. Just looking for some advice

Did you find a solution for this? We are trying to do the same

I haven't finished it yet but I am working on it. Im putting a strengthening structure internal to the roof that will allow a roof rack eventually and should hold the hinges so the stress if removed from the fibreglass and i'm hoping this will open up some opportunities to have an internal locking mechanism. Still working on it at the moment though.

I think the solution is going to be to have some brackets made that bolt into the roof above the gutter, follow the profile of the gutter then vertically straight up to house the awning. I'm thinking of making a plastic sheet to go along the length of the awning to sit in the gutter to stop the rain coming between the van and the awning.

If this doesn't work I think it'll have to be an internal locking system. Maybe something similar to a boot catch? - Now that's got me thinking!

Hi,I moved the front pop top catch to over the passenger door..but I'm still munching about with the pop top/ awning as the pop top catches the awning ( and pulls the seal off!)
