New Floor Covering

Post by Ant-t »

My van needs a new floor covering, the old carpet that's in the van is falling apart and has to go. There is underlay beneath so I'm tempted to replace the carpet but I was wondering if anyone has had success using laminate or wood flooring in their van? Any recommendations?

Hi,
To protect the original floor covering I purchased a floor covering from Kiravans.
It is purchased in standard widths and cut to your required length. Comes in standard colours light blue, grey etc with a hint of a sparkle effect.
If I remember at a quite responsible £/mtr cost.
Very durable, used by this company in their T5 conversions can be wiped clean.

I used colourful heavy duty vinyl from this place:

Its very hard wearing stuff, its waterproof & wont need changing for a considerable amount of time.

I had wood flooring in previous van and wouldnt do it again. Horses for courses I guess...

Or cork tiles, warmer to the touch than laminate so kinder on the tootsies and hard wearing.

Yes cork has to be sealed, the tiles come sealed one side, then if you want apply extra coats yacht varnish in this case or just Johnsons Kleer.
