Fully retractable rear seatbelts

Post by kebrooks »

I'm sure someone has asked this before but where can i get fully retractable rear seatbelts. You know the ones that most people now have in the middle of their rear seats in standard cars, they have two buckles that you click in to to make the three points. I saw some tiny ones at Volksworld on a camper but couldn't find out where they came from (or what they are actually called?!).

Any ideas anyone? I live on the south coast. I have tried to email a company called The Seatbelt Service twice (as they do a bigger version) but they haven't got back to me either time.

Thanks everyone

Kate

Not sure if it is quite what you are after, but I had a belt like the one you describe installed in the back of my Westy by http://www.quickfitsbs.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. The type I had fitted are the same as in the article here: http://www.quickfitsbs.com/PDFs/vw_camper.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. Give them a shout - they are really helpful.

Thanks Jeavsy that is just what i want, they just don't seem to have a name for this type of seatbelt so most people look at you blankly. I think i did look at this company before, i think they are up in Surrey so not so far away. Sternal, that is the company i have tried to email but i never get a reply.

What sort of prices did you both pay? Approx is fine, i won't hold you to it.

Do you have a photo handy of the finished job? Some seem chunkier than others.

I think mine were about £300 as well. I just really liked the way they came through the overhead locker and don't impact on the use of the wardrobe. Quality work as well.

That's what i wanted too really Jeavsey. I didn't want anything too massive or attached to random parts of the van looking weird. I'll give them a ring. Thanks x

If anyone knows of someone who could do this on the south coast (Brighton, Portsmouth or similar) then let me know as both of these are well into London.

Thanks x

I used SeatbeltServices. Two retractable seat belts fitted on the inside surface of the boot (offside) LHD Westie!

Seatbelt service came to me. I'm on the South coast in Kent. Think they charged around £40 call out charge on top of the charge for fitting two 3 point belts. One of which is what you are after by the sounds of it:

Pwag20, can I ask a really large favour? Could you have a look and see if there's a manufactures name on the "middle" seat belt? I too am trying to source one of these type of 3 point belts but have not had much success yet!
