Ballpark figure, pop-top conversion.

Post by 'GHOSTWHEEL' »

It's time now to join the proper campervan club, after putting up with camping in a tin-top for over for 3 years.

Too my knowledge there is only one company in England offering a pop-top conversion based on an improved Westfalia pop-top design, which is. http://www.spaceroofs.co.uk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;.

Space Roofs will supply and fit a glass fibre elevating roof to a T3 tintop for £3060inc.VAT.

So my question is - are there any other company's out there that can do the same job or similar and what sort of price?

I'm not intrested in having ago my self.

I am intrested in paying someone for a decent job well done, and would consider having a second hand poptop fitted, if it saves me a few quid.

Any advice/recommendations or tip offs on people that can do it greatly appreciated :ok

Thanks

Andy.

http://www.poptoproofs.co.uk/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; based is Washington

This guy is advertising T25 Westfalia replicas for £1750. He also give support for fitting them. I believe he also has a fitting service.

I'll definitely give them a call to see how much they charge with fitting.

Thanks :ok

Any others? Just found these guys http://spektrum-interiors.co.uk/joomla/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and according to there home page on the 26th Jan 2013 they say

"Coming soon T25 low level elevating roof, we are currently developing an Austop elevating roof to fit the T25 we hope to have it on our show van for Camper Jam in July at the latest!"

Sounds interesting will have to give them a call too.

I believe that T25 poptops are still available from Reimo. Try speaking to the UK importer at http://www.conceptmulti-car.co.uk/.

I was lucky to get a devon side elevation roof off a van that was being broken. If you have practical ability to use a few tools you can fit it your self. The roof cost me £250 i cut the tin top to match the glass fibre roof base ensuring the roof brases where not comprimised. Its fairly straight forward rivet the base back on the tin top positioning the side elevation hinges required drilling holes to bolt on to the roof.Provided you take some time carefully checking measurements before any cutting or drilling its a diy job.
