Ok so a big thanks to Louey on here for not only selling me this bike rack but delivering it too.
IMO much better than the Fiamma, no squeaking on the tailgate and no damaged paintwork, can also see out of the rear window. easily removed.
Yes you need a tow bar and wiring but if you have that i think this is the better option.
Hope you are enjoying the IOW Louey

No issues with weight. I have a motorcycle rack that fits onto the tow bar, tis legal as well! Hold on, it fastens with 2 bolts onto the flat plate section (won't work with a genuine westfalia), is this the same with the bike racks?
Why would the glass be anything other than half full?

This fits the towball, so it will work with any towbar, have always been a bit skeptical but its solid as a rock.
sounds like yours need the tow ball removing, thats ok for many towbars but the westy swan neck does not have the removable tow ball, its a welded towball onto the frame.

Always thought the westfalia ones were impractical and modern looking!! At least with the bog standard type, there's a flat section that you can weld stuff to. The options are limitless, eg. Bike rack...........err, let me think about this for a while!
