This is the label out of my fridge its pretty unreadable....
Its gas/12v/240v with the voltage/on off switch top dead centre of the unit....
Can anyone tell me the model number, looks like it ends in 22(even tho its a 3way!), ive searched for it online with no luck.....
Then hopefully then i can source a replacement element...

Re: Viking fridge help
That looks the same as the one in my 1983 Viking. It's an Electrolux RM122.

Actually I don't remember the circular catch thing half way up the edge of the door. But in all other respects it looks the same, and mine's definitely an RM122.

Is that saying that the RM122 doesn't run on mains? Mine definitely does. Is it a Dometic versus Electrolux thing perhaps?

Re: Viking fridge help
I would use the 75w one if there isn't an 85 available - cooling might be a little slower though I doubt that the 85w one is the original anyway. .
That info re no mains was from the Dometic rm122 manual!

I have the original installation/usage manual for my RM122 at home. It may have the specifications for the heater element if there's a doubt about the 85W being original. I'll scan it and post it this evening.

Re: Viking fridge help
It seems mine is an RM122B, so that probably explains why mine doesn't have that catch thing half way up the door.
Anyway, the booklet with it suggests that both the 12V and 240V elements are 85W (see page 5 of the PDF, which is a combination of the English pages from several documents).

Re: Viking fridge help
After a closer look today at the original element i can now make out rm 122 & thats comparing it to a element out of a rm212 fridge.
So do we think that putting a 95w element in would be ok ?
Surely its just going to heat up quicker....
