T3 rock and roll bed?
hi guys, I'm looking for a rock and roll bed that specificity a T3, without the raised section over the engine bay. Can anyone help?

I think the multivan rock and roll bed sits level with the engine bay plus foam mattress

hey thanks for the reply, but wouldn't that be too wide for a camper with cabinets down the one side?

Re: T3 rock and roll bed?
I had a similar quest to yours. I failed. The consensus seems to be build a platform over the engine bay, to make it the same relative height as a T2, and use tha space under it to store the mattress or some tools, mattress helps more with sound proofing!
I do remember T25 beds being advertised a couple of years ago, but no longer findable. I went with the vw heritage steel framed adjustable width bed.

Am also looking one that does not need the box section over the engine.

I love my box over the engine bay. Where else would I store the awning, camping table and chairs? It's a really handy space

Re: T3 rock and roll bed?
Our over engine space is taken up by two drawers... very useful storage, and as I've just found out, can still drag them out and leave them on top of bed when need to drive listening to engine to spot problems...
You can take me anywhere... twice... the second time to apologise!
Re: T3 rock and roll bed?
The problems arise because aftermarket beds are created to fit all vans from T2 to T5 so compromises occur. Take the bluebird bed as an example. That was designed for a T2 which has a higher engine platform.
Like it or not but T2's are the target market

Re: T3 rock and roll bed?
And as mentioned the Bluebird bed requires a box, but that is great for storage of bits and pieces. Why the desire to not have a box? Is it because it seems like a hassle to build one?

Doesn't the westfalia bed go straight on to the engine bay ?
