Cab floor mats

Post by colouredFunk »

Hi, I'm trying to replace the floor in the cab with a new rubber mat, something like this -

my one has quite a few cuts and rips in now... However the only full replacement I can find is a at VW heritage -

I'm not really into the carpet idea, as I seem to spend a lot of time covered in sand or mud (not at the same time) :o

Does anyone know where I can find a full rubber replacement mat?

Also, the arch wrap around sections, is it possible to buy there separately?

Has anyone bought the kit from VW heritage?

Thanks :)

I've just taken the rubber mats out of my van for restoration work and am thinking of fitting carpet instead. Mine is RHD, might you be interested? They are in reasonable condition with no rips or splits on the floor mat (I think from memory!). If you are interested I can examine in detail and send you some photos.

I seem to remember that one of the german retailers were selling them, someone here will probably know,I will need a new one sometime due to my wife leaving mine on top of 'things' in the shed and it has now split in various places, prior to that it was immaculate, she said I should not have left it on the floor of the garage!!,it was nice and flat and split free

You can repair the splits/holes with black sikaflex/other polyurethane adhesive sealant - you can even reinstate the pattern with a bit of artistry.

Is your VW LHD? If so try German ebay. All ex service VW van had rubber mats and rubber covers on the wheel arches, you may find one second hand

Thanks for the replies.

I'm slowly coming round to the carpet idea, at least it will give it a better professional look..

Has anyone fitted one from VW Heritage?

Decisions descions.
