Carpet lining my van

Hello everyone

So I am in the middle of ripping out all of the original 30 year old carpeting out of the van. I have insulated most of it behind the ply boards already.... and I am now almost ready to start with the carpet lining, from front to back, and the inside of the roof....
I am starting to worry a little about it now as I wanted to do this myself. but I am worried about removing the windows (then re-fitting them) and basically messing it up as I have never done anything like this before.
I think I know how much lining I need, but I am trying to weigh up doing it myself against just giving it to a company to do, since I have done most of the prep work myself.

To this end, can anyone suggest someone in the Lincolnshire area that could carpet line my van so I can have a chat with them about costs...?
Or, if anyone around there knows what they are doing and is willing to help/be for hire to help me...?

Once you start doing the lining its not that difficult. Only thing I suggest is make sure the adhesive is a good high temp. resistant one.

Grow a pair!! :D Its too easy a job to pay someone to do it. My recommendation is to remove the windows, its leaves your job a lot easier. I carpeted all window frames apart from the tailgate and sliding door. One piece from the sliding to seal to tailgate seal in length and from the top of the panel near the roof to well below the point where the hardboard side panel. then the far side from the tailgate seal to the seam in the pillar behind the drivers seat, its a long piece but well do able on your own. Have a very sharp blade in your knife and a good supply of blades on standby, a good sharp knife makes your job so much easier. I got my material from Harrison Trim Supplies and 10 cans of glue and 10 meter length (20sq mtrs) you will find them on eBay. Great thick material, takes a bit of beating around the curves in the windows but I found the curved end of a Stanley knife worked wonders forcing it. First time doing it and very impressed with the way it came out.

I will do!
I may even be daring enough to take some photos!

I want to carpet line the floor too, I have decided I don't like lino and want a nice plush carpet underfoot. What on earth could go wrong?!

Veltrim or similar isnt suitable for flooring, it is just a lining material. You will need flooring grade carpet for that. However I would consider lino or similar as carpet holds dirt, damp + difficult to clean. or maybe even a lino floor with a removable carpet on top.

Mrs santa wants the same kind of carpetting that is going in the cab around the seat flooring to go all the way back through the van too..
I did try and explain the whole dirt and damp thing but my comments were listened to, contemplated, then suitably ignored ha!

Ms Santa will be proved wrong. Just wait until the lining arrives, show her and she will soon change her mind! Keep up updated!!

Oh dear...
Mrs Santa has just seen the carpet in your van Slippy. Why did I allow that?!
Her words were... Well that's it, green and cream carpet!

....I can feel a small domestic coming on...!

More to the point, is that just bog standard carpet? Do you mind telling me where you got it from? And who made the matching mats?
Ta!

I've been deliberating this whole carpet thing... what do you do about the mud, grass and sand?
