Removing carpet from walls & roof

We have a 1985 Autosleeper hightop. It still has the original carpet on all interior walls, roof etc. It has got to the stage where it is disintegrating and tiny fibres fill the air all of the time. So I think the time has come to remove it.

Has anyone got any top tips for how best to remove it?

Are you recovering? If so, just pull the old stuff off and cover over the bits that are left, will mostly be glue residue. That’s what I did.

I have a similar problem that is only minor at the moment, have been thinking on it , would imagine its a big job?

Hello,
I have been here...
A couple of tips:
Vacuum clean the carpet to reduce the fibre dust falling. Then use a spray bottle with diluted wallpaper paste, wet it out, then let dry... this will reduce the dust.
Get a vibro multi tool with a smooth blade and a hot air gun to remove the carpet.this will be a slow and messy job.
I had to use thinners to remove the last of the glue.
Use 4 way stretch upholstery fabric and temperature resistant spray glue.
Do not skimp on the glue.
You will probably need 1 or 2 assistants for the carpet fitting...
