Not just me then! Ironic, considering that they are made by "GoRusty" but are the one thing that won't rust :rofl
I'll have to rivet a bit of ali onto them to keep them stiff.

Very much lacking in enthusiasm right now, gone right off it after the hot summer (when it was too hot to work on the bus anyway)
I am slowly picking at it, reminding myself of where I had got to etc. but work is now forcing my hand as things have picked up again.
Hope that I can muster the necessary and get enough done before the clocks change, then I fear it's going to be a struggle.
Sick it being sat there on the drive, that's for certain :(

Hang on in there bud. Your progress is way faster than mine, on a bigger job, with a larger result.

It gets like this from time to time, when I cant be bothered I just leave it as I know the work I do will not be as good......the itch will return

Break youre heart those vans, the enthusiasm will return, i found it was best not to go near it if possible rather than trying to force myself when the notion has gone. Which was difficult when I worked next to it every day.
Chin up all the hard bits are done.

Bought some new headlamps. Wipac Led projectors with halo sidelights, they consume about 1/3 the current of incandescents. I like them, so deal with it.
BW stainless retaining rings were a bit tight, so I skimmed about 0.5mm out of them, supported by a handy bit of Tufnol which had the correct size counterbore already in it :)
Waiting to get the frames back from the platers after I beadblasted the grot off, then on they go.

Good to hear that about the beam. I started shopping at Carbuilder Solutions (they were on offer, 16% off) and then started shopping around and got another £90 off that price :)

beam pattern better than my Audi A4 Avant Factory Bi Xenon lights.

these where the only LED conversion lights i could find with proper tested e marks (Not PRC e marks that have never been tested or approved) and beam pattern that's not all scatter.

the only thing I don't like is the halo ring is not super bright like a DRL but otherwise perfect.

I contacted Wipac about the halo and they pointed out a retrofit  headlamp with built in DRL would mean no E mark.

That all sounds very good, my old 52 plate A6 had Bi xenons and they were fantastic.
Having a genuine E mark was also important to me, which narrowed down the choices pretty quickly over the cheap & nasty LR "insect eye" led offerings.
Dont suppose you have a wiring diagram for them? Mine came with no instructions...

Feeling the love today. Front difflock back on after...some considerable time hanging in the breeze! Tool check: pliers, punch, hammer, specs... Image
It went like a dream. Forgot that I had previously set down the end if the spring pin, so it would just hang in the hole and let me pick up the hammer and punch. 3 hands not required ;)

Did a little underbody housekeeeping too, tidying up wiring harness runs etc. Here's another gratuitous shot of my modded sills :D
