Looks like a second rad for a charge cooler. You will have to post engine photos to check.

Sorry for long delay into looking to see if it is a charge cooler ,it has an inter cooler fitted so guess it must be.
have got another steering wheel has the other has a few chunks missing and a replacement drivers seat ,yet to be fitted.where can I find gear ratios for my gearbox? It’s a five  speed four main gears and a crawler gear plus reverse.
i ask this because 3rd  seems higher revving when changing up.odd. So makes not use it but seems okay at lower speeds.hope the way I have said this makes some resemblance. Of sense.luv the the truck and while redoing the garden and garage have had several trips to the builders and the tip. Thanks for reading. KOTSY.

Check the white sticker if its still on the front heater channel (below dash, in front of your knees) which will list thw original codes and options.
Transaxle (geatbox) code is stamped on the angled bottom side of the casing, left side, below the reverse switch (approx)
Front diff stamped on the bottom at the front, visible from below.
Then go to vwt3.com and look them up!

Just realized that your doka is Nick (footstuck) old truck (the AWDC sticker from the day at Slab Common in Hants was ringing a bell)
It is well known.

See your other post/query. Scandi engine night heater socket is most likely. Finnish option I think?

Hi Kotsy
Yes that was mine.
I sold it about a year ago after I bought a Caravelle and got the new bus to a point where i could use it daily.
I took my bits and bobs off it before i sold it.
I told the guy that it urgently needed a cam belt before he used the truck, as it had been due for change when i took it off the road two years previously which of course he ignored .
He wrecked a great engine and i guess he lost heart, or was just in it to turn a pound note.
Before i sold it I took my gearbox that contained lots of goodies and my front locker and changed them for the unknown parts from the velle.
It was a great truck, but as Im sure you know they swallow a fair amount of money until you get them how you want them.
It was my daily work horse for 9 or 10 years, and i was sad to part with it, but needed the money

The Caravelle box had a nasty leak, did the guy sort it?
