Clutch Release Shaft return spring?

Post by Rdav1s »

Hi all,

not technically a syncro question but as I still don’t know all the differences, I’ll chance it here  :D

my transaxle is now Back in place and I’m just doing final checks before cranking her over. My question is...
is there a return spring for the Clutch Release Shaft? Not the 2 springs that lock the release bearing in place but a spring that holds the bearing back from the pressure plate. Don’t recall removing one during strip down and I’m a little confused as to how it all works. The Bentley manual isn’t showing one?

as always, thanks for any advice

No, as it is self adjusting hydraulic with a constant contact release bearing, only the clutch cable ones had a return spring.
