Nice, if cost was a secondary consideration - i'd give it a try. But, I like mine and its small enough to use as a daily.

I was following a Hymer converted Ducato today, looked quite nice, not too massive but...awning on the wrong side for a UK vehicle. Fine if you go to Europe a lot.

Saw it a while back, but still love the look of it, and how they've integrated everything - it's the first off road camper where my wife was 100% keen! :D We had a Land Rover 101 with a rear lounge setup in a similar way which we miss (but not the 8mpg of the v8, no matter how good it sounded...), our Syncro ticks a lot of boxes don't get me wrong, but as the family's getting bigger we're starting to wonder whether to sell and start saving for something a tad larger, or splash the cash and do the popup roof/pull out awning/refresh the interior etc. Plus wondering what the overlanding/expedition scene will be like in 12 months, there's a whole different conversation :)

We drag our little pop-top caravan along with us, and a good gazebo.
When our older boys join us with their girlfriends, we can sleep 2 in the multi van , 4 in the pop-top caravan and 4 in the gazebo with room to store.
Its my daily driver, and will return 26mpg towing.
We leave the caravan at a campsite. We seat 5 in the multivan atm.
Once i have sorted the 2 rear facing seat belts, we will be able to seat 7.
People don't hold much of an objection to a VW with its curtains drawn if its parked over night in their street.
Parking a full blown 'expedition vehicle' would be more likely to cause offence I'm sure.
You cant slip under the wire with one of those, or hide in a green lane over night, the 'fluffy stuff' will soon choke your progress.
I recon there's no substitute for a Syncro to slip by, un noticed . . . well maybe a Volvo L3315.
They look toooo Sweet to complain about, but they are a fair bit smaller.
If you should be so lucky as to have one of them parked in your street over night
house prices would be sure to rise!!

Each to their own though

In the current climate, I can see a lot of these concept/pipedream vehicles going on ice, at best.
Unless it comes with an autoclave for sterilizing your reusable masks and a fully sealed "armoured car" spec recirculating air system...
