Hi, where is the sender unit and how easy is it to replace please

Look under the LH rear wheel arch. There's a circular plate in the side of the tank. That's the sender. 8 x M6 nuts, a hose and a plug.

it might not be the sender, wiring issues are common, the wheel arch is a poor place for electrics, be very very careful when removing the connector plug, I recommend using rost off or plus gas to soak it before trying to pull the plug out just roll back the boot, and then when it is disconnected test the plug wiring and continuity to dash, if you bridge the pins and turn the ignition on it should read very full, if it doesn't there's a wiring fault
SyncroAndy will be able to tell you what resistance the sender should read for a variety of fill levels as he's done the homework
