Air conditioning hose/wiring routing in a syncro?

Post by silverbullet »

I know its a rare option and I may just have to puzzle it out myself based on what my 2wd tells me, but any advice/pics would be very welcome!
The hoses I have are a replacement/upgrade set taken from a 2wd Caravelle GL, full length flexible type and R134 rated but they may not be long enough with an extra pair of cylinders pushing the compressor further away.
I dont even know if the dryer location is wrong for a syncro.
And now I have taken the engine out so I cant check that anyway :D

Drier sits in front of tank fuel sender. The pipes go through the chassi cross member in front of the trailing arm. Non aircon vehicles do not have the holes for this. Pipes then run directly under the floor next to chassi rail and pass through the front outrigger into the front wheel wheel were they go up and over the chassi then forward. I can take some photo for you but can't post here.

Thanks Russel, its the same as my 1990 2wd then. I'll probably have to play with the hose routing a little because of the chassis alterations and winch.

Yes same as a 2WD. I moved mine to the inside of the chassi rail due to aux tank.

I will probably do the same, they would be better protected and they might reach. Only one way to find out, I guess.
