I gave the seats a quick once over yesterday and they look great. They are by far the most comfortable captains I have had and look like they have had very little use. All of the interior is in really great condition and very original which is great

I have the moulded cork flooring in my Velle too and very satisfying it is too. Nicely slots into place. Excellent sound deadening. You can still buy it from VW Classic Parts in Germany. When you remove the middle seats it leaves a gap in the cork flooring, where the rails went. Item 8 fills the gap. €82 delivered for x2 strips (2015 pricing).

Cheers Rick, hope your keeping safe...... It wont be a keeper I'm afraid will be up for sale when completed. The interior is 99% done, I have a few more jobs I want to do first.

Gearbox is coming out to have a strip down, inspection and new seal kit fitted. When I bought the van I was aware of the small leak, previous owner had just topped up a little when needed. Its at the joint between reverse/g gear housing and main bearing case.

While the case is out Ill be replacing the tank straps as they are a bit crusty, also new fuel pump mount, fuel lines and finally plugs, filters, oil etc for the engine.

Damn thats nice. I hope that the buyer sees it for what it really is and not a "potential camper"

Cheers Ian, had quite a few samples delivered before choosing this one lol. Now I just need to get the gearbox out, whoever fitted the driveshafts had not heard of a torque wrench, got 4 out the rest have rounded

Well its finally out and off to get a new seal kit fitted tomorrow. It was a mission to remove, had to leave the clutch slave cylinder in place because the bolt was seized. One bolt also seized on one of the mounts so had to remove a mount bracket and one of the bolts snapped when removing

BUT its out.....Aidan's home-made gearbox removal tool shared on the Wiki was a great help.

I've searched the Wiki for that but can't find it, is it in the gearbox section?
