Reversing lights

Post by rollercoaster »

Under the van today as the weather permits,
looking for a reason why the reversing lights are not working.
The fuse seems ok..
The gearbox has just been out for a refurb and I just got the van back,
so I wonder if the switch was not connected or something,
they worked before.
Other thing is I noticed the wire to the lights got a bit melted on the exhaust,
though I have tied that up now, and seems the fuse is ok.
The melted wire went to an extra reversing light anyway.
Any tips?
I havent found the reversing light switch on the gearbox yet!
theres a wire dangling, and something that might be it..
but its not looking like they connect.
Is my switch missing maybe?
I will try to post a picture.

Switches can be a bit temperamental. Mine wasn’t working but once removed and refitted without its washer it’s been fine.

Glad you got it fixed. Never seen a switch pop the top off like that.

Oh that gearbox has been through hard times lately!
Hopefully it can relax into the van a bit now and enjoy life.

And I was back under, needed the washer off,
seemed ok at first but after it settled in,
had to push the stick to get the lights on.
