I have the later type dash cluster. My alternator warning light is staying on. I’m getting 14.5 volts at the battery with the engine running so I think it is charging.
Pin 11 on the 14 way dash plug is alternator warming light. Should I also see 14.5 volts on that pin?

Re: Alternator Warning Light
Alternator blue wire shorting to ground will give that. Alternators will start charging sometimes with just a 1.5v dry cell battery so can get enough of a kick to start them producing voltage without the full 12v being present at the alternator. Once the alternator has started producing charge the excitation is no longer needed on the blue wire. The light will only go out when there is equal voltage either side of the light, ie the alternator voltage on the blue wire is the same as that at the battery side of the light.
If you can make sense of that! Always a tricky one to trace the fault point.
