I will be putting the van back together shortly and wondered if the instrument cluster can be bench tested prior to fitting.
Mainly to see if the coolant and oil gauges and alarms are working as they should?

Re: Instrument clusters
Sent you a PM. To test test all the functions you really need a test rig that incorporates a 14 pin multiconnector, a 12v DC supply, two 100 ohm resistors that act as the coolant and fuel sensors and about 8 switches to independently activate all the various functions. You will also need the pin information for your van that matches the type of dash you are testing, I.e early or late. For a one off test that is quite a lot of investment and time to set up. It is possible to test with just a couple of croc clips, a 12v DC supply and a couple of 100 ohm resistors but describing what and how to do is only practical if you are completely familiar with dash and all the functions.
