Probably an old one but worth noting as I saw this on YouTube today thanks to Edd China.
A two-stage process and useful for cleaning damp/salt blackened copper wire when replacing terminals too.
Immerse the terminal and crimp in a vinegar/salt solution for a few minutes to remove oxide, dry off and neautralize with a water/baking soda solution.

Works with electronics too. Often use that technique with old valve radios that have been stored in damp conditions.
