Passenger front cab actuator

Post by Wesley »

Evening all,

Hoping someone can shed a little light my way please.

A couple of years ago I sourced and fitted an original set of actuators as most of mine had failed. Swapped them over and everything has been working fine since.

Yesterday however the passenger door failed. Today I opened up the actuator (but left it connected) and tested it. For some reason the motor would spin when unlocking but not when locking. Swapped the motor for a spare I have and exactly the same thing happened.

Played around abit more and then it was the opposite! Motor would spin to lock but not to unlock! Hence I am now confused.

Any ideas of what I could try next please?

Cheers
Wes

it's a contact issue isn't it, usually just need to clean the contact pints and lubricate so that each cycle makes full movement to enable the opposite action, if condensation has got in the springs tend to rust I found

Thanks Aidan,

Yes have given that a go and still getting no joy.

Sadly I think it’s just given up the ghost and will need replacing. Just try and fix what is possible where I can as original parts are so hard to come by nowadays.

Thanks again for the advice.
