Again, thanks for the helpful advice.
I’ve got the sealing panel (12 in the diagram) off now and that’s given me good access to the flaps. If you know what you’re doing I think it would be possible to pull them out without taking this panel off but i didn’t fancy the risk of breaking something.
I cut through the tabs with a cutting disk on a dremel following the Gowesty video examples and then prised the panel away. Which took more force than I wanted to put into it because the original sealing method - heat - caused the lid and the box to stick together deeper than the tabs in a couple of places.
There are ready made screw holes to put it back together again and I’ll use silicon also.
