Light switch light

Post by clone123 »

Hi just sorting all my lights on my dash my question is should the headlight switch have a light in it as I have no bulb holder or extra wires to go on any bulb holder could there be a bulb holder that goes in the back of the switch and connects to the copper bits in the hole on the picture Image

No. It's not an illuminated switch.

I have never seen one illuminated , don’t see the point really it wouldn’t come on until you switched the lights on and by then you have found it anyway ?

the bulb holder is the same type as the  heater control  illumination ( alot of people dont realise that should be illuminated aswell)
OEM PART NUMBER: 321-919-039
thats the part number I believe but its the  version with soldered in filament bulb which is a bit wastefull and are very dim
the better on is OEM partnr. 321919039.  which can  fit a 286 bulb  so you can fit a a led  which is brighter and less power consuming.

but  not much point unless the wirying  is there on the back of your  plug for it

T25 the switch isn't illuminated. The same type of switch but with an earth contact was fitted to Golfs and illuminated when the ignition was switched on.
