''E3 Diamond Fire'' spark plugs better fuel economy?

Post by luter82 »

Hi guys,
I have watched a video on youtube of a guy testing different sparkplugs brands with his lawnmower engine.
It came out that E3 spark Diamond Fire plugs actually make you use less fuel.
My question is now, since I have a very stupid fuel economy 7 km/l (16 mpg) with my Aircooled 2 liters petrol from 1980, I was wondering if any of you ever tried this brand to see if it really makes a difference.

Here is the video I'm talking about https://youtu.be/jcVF3xL_fzk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
And here is the brand I am talking about: https://www.ebay.co.uk/i/112355280473?ul_noapp=true" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Here the spark plugs I have now installed: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/4x-BOSCH-SPA ... SwgTpefgj-" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I also have 4x Bosch Platinum Plus I did not try yet (here a like to those too: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BOSCH-HR9DPX ... SwxBNeiNgz" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;)

I have also rebuilt the engine recently. The guys who did the work were in Vancouver and they suggested me to install some triple bridge Bosch that I never found again here in Europe.

I know it is better to refer always to the manual, but anyone of you ever tried any of these options and would you know which one is the best? Or maybe there is a new option I didn't think of?

Thank you

Riccardo

Even if they do improve your fuel consumption, I don't think they'll make a significant difference. I reckon you've got other problems causing your poor fuel economy....

Many years ago I found NGK plugs to be best in motorcycle (2 & 4 stroke engines) best, they're what I use.

Love the way he uses a sidevalve lawnmower engine in the video :lol:

Well we changed literally everything in this setup, I don't think there is a major issue in place, it's been always like that. It's sort of normal with Aircooled engines and automatic transmission (forgot to mention is previously)...but I wanted to try to make it better with some of the new technologies available nowadays.
Sorry I forgot to mention also that we have Weber carburetor (at least not the original solex) and magnetic pins (for the ignition part).
