1.9 DG Coil Wiring

Post by dontpanic »

Hello everyone

Am nearing the final stages of firing up the engine but need some help on wiring. I hold my hands up to the fact that I simply cannot read wiring diagrams and despite the searches on the internet cannot find a simple guide to ensure I get the right wiring configuration. Can any help and let me know which wires go where on the coil...

Many thanks..

Black wires go to terminal 15+ on the coil, the green wire goes to 1-, brown wires go under coil mounting bolt.

Bigherb you're a star...

Do the brown wires go to one side of the coil under the mountain bolts or either side?

Many thanks

As long as they connect to the bodywork it doesn't matter but usually both to the lower bolt. They are the earths for the rear lights.

Assuming it hasn't got the three wire plug then.
Connect Blu to D+, some may have a small terminal + or B+, not to that and if it has one marked W.

Thanks BigHerb - yes just found the D+ terminal and have connected the blue wire

Down to the last connections now - don't suppose you recognise any of these...?

The thick red connects to the pink for the manifold heater, the black connects to the wires to the carburettor.

Pretty much there although the mid black connector is the wrong type for my Brosol 2E3 carb...

Will hunt through the archives to see where the yellow and brown wire goes rather than bother you any more...your help's much appreciated
