Do l disconnect ABS here (what a mess ) or the sensor at back of hub. I want to remove front suspension for a revamp.

Hi Stu

I would be very gentle separating that plug as they are easy to break on vag models.
Dont disturb the sensor in the hub as i would expect it to be seized solid
If it works leave well alone mate.

Hello Rick,
I hope you are well? And thanks for your support. :ok
If l cant pull connector apart can l cut wire and make a new connection on rebuild? Or it doesnt work that way.
Parts for ABS are truly rare.

you can join them but just go carefully and you should get it apart.

they only break if the connections are badly corroded inside which you cant see externally.

ABS Connector apart safely...and disc shield retains screws actually unscrewing....miracles :ok
Note the appropriate screwdriver with socket end handle and ABS hood on plate.

Avoid at all costs. Nothing but a pain in the rear.
