Stereo swap, ISO wiring harness adaptor

Post by BambooBilly »

Hi forum!

I’m in the process of a radio/stereo swap (to a completely ott touch screen DAB) but before I splice all the existing wires, I wonder if anyone knows if there’s an adapter out there which can match to the new stereo wiring? I’d rather not have to splice up in case I ever wanted to swap back to the tape deck.

Existing stereo coming out is a Sharp RG-F284E tape deck

And the current 80s wiring looks like this

Going in is a single din Pioneer SPH-Evo62DAB-Uni

There are lots of features I won’t be using (like reversing camera)...although maybe that’s a project for another day?!?

But for now, the ‘modern’ harnessing which came with the stereo is set like this

Anyone got any ideas for adaptors? Or do I just get on with splicing?

Thanks!

Great thank you Multisi and Rob!

I’ve had a look at both BW & Halfs and I don’t think either have a ‘plug & play’ adapter which will link to the existing loom... I’ll have to chop and rewire I think!

Correct, but once you've spliced the iso plug on, you'll be able to use virtually any stereo on the market that physically fits. So that's the good part :-)

The iso plug is available all over the place, online, eBay etc
