2.1 WBX Wimpish radiator fan?

Post by Mr Bean »

Gently running in freshly rebuilt engine and temp gauge is bang on center during normal driving but gets too high for my liking in slow traffic although the radiator fan can be heard running . The coolant system is correctly bled as far as I can establish and both pressure and coolant tanks are maintaining correct levels. No sign of boiling over is detectable and Rad fan cuts in but but I feel I need to check that it is up to scratch. I am proposing to do the paper clip bridging test on the Temp switch connector tomorrow to prove both circuits are working. Both Bentleys and Haynes a bit short on volts, amps and Ohms for testing purposes particularly value of what I believe is the stage one series resistor. Any advice welcome plus location of the resistor and a supplier for the fan motor if found lacking.
