Indicators

Post by Thorgills »

Hey guys,

Both front and rear offside indicators stopped flashing at same time; are these on a separate fuse to near side or is there chance both bulbs gone at same time?

TIA!!

I am sure more will come on but I believe it is the hazard switch causing the problem.

Might be but try removing relevant fuses and make sure none has a hairline crack in the fuse bit. Not unusual for that to happen and the fuse otherwise looks intact.

I once spent a frustrating hour stripping steering column only to discover one fuse like that.

If the indicators and hazards work then it won't be a fuse problem.
It is rare for both bulbs to go at the same time but never say never in this game so check them first.
The common connection for the front and rear indicators is a four pin plug with the black/green cable for the R/H indicators above the fuse box.
This one check it is still pushed home and the connections are clean. There is also a 2 pin one there as well.

Otherwise you will have to a bit of fault tracing do you have a 12v test lamp or a multimeter?

Indicators/hazards the most infuriating to solve.

Thanks again and will have a look.

Don't have 12v tester but to be honest, checking the 4 pin with your very helpful pic and checking bulbs draws close to my ability!!!

Will check them then report back! Watch this space!
