Camper has blown it's horn once too many times.
We were down in the New Forest as you do. Pulled over to look at the map thing and when I re-started the engine turned the wheel and the horn sounded! each time I touched the steering wheel it went off again. Pulled all covers off removed switch to no avail, same thing ad soon as you moved the wheel. It started raining as it does so armed with a pair of snips I cut through the wire at the horn. Are silence and we drove home.
Part 2.
Home. Removed steering wheel Arrrr Horn ring in pieces and brass connector strip on indicator switch broken. New parts ordered and duly fitted. All back together and and and the same thing?????????
It sounds like the brown wire at the base of the steering column has got caught in the universal joint or something.
Possibly tearing off some of the insulation, which is now allowing the inner conductor wires to short on the metal of the steering column.
Probably need to run a fresh wire between the column and the horn itself.
Follow the route and strip out the old brown wire. Then fit a new brown wire of the same thickness.
More or less what Mocki said above...

Well that does sound worth checking out as a likely suspect. I see what you mean now you have explained it in more detail!
Well checked it out and wondering where the brown wire that comes up from the floor inside the steering tube comes from?
I mean where does it connect underside?
Should it be bathed all the time cos it is?
