When you get the application right, the finish is no better/worse than most production cars and only requires a light flat to improve the overall finish. However, like spraying, runs and putting the paint on too thick can give you a lot more work to do and dampen enthusiasm. That said, for many, the final result without flatting is acceptable and either way it tidies up even the scruffiest T25 without the need for it to sit there. masked up, doors off and all trim removed, while you get the spray gun on it. I don't know about the rest of you but I wouldn't have the time or budget to spray - too busy driving it

Mind you, I'm planning on a complete flat next year and two fresh coats as mine was done 4 years ago and shows all the usual signs of scrapes along hedges and general chips. The time that has elapsed has also helped me identify areas that could do with new panels or more effort on my part. I'm also planning to paint the bottom half Tardis blue as I saw a similar paint scheme on a narrowboat and it looked the dogs.

i have been looking at a new colour and it is under hammertones what does that mean

that should work its at the bottom light green is it same as a ral colour

Steer clear of that - has same finish as Hammerite.

Is there a colour conversion chart anywhere that im missing?

For example, VW Colour code/name, and the CombiColour that matches it?

Its just that my Syncro is two tone, and would like to get as perfect match as possible to the original colours.

It's savannah beige. I had to get a spray can mixed in halfords, sprayed a tobacco tin and sent the sample to Avenue coatings. They mixed it for around £36 a 2.5l tin.

No you're not missing it. One does not exist sadly. You have to get it mixed to match. Annoying I know. Some time ago someone managed to get a list of a few matches but its very hit and miss to be honest. Nice job Termite. Looks excellent!

Avenue coatings mix paint if you send them a sample. they mixed the colour I sent them exactly.

Where's the best place to buy from as I can't remember where I got my last paint from, was 2 years ago

Rustoleum Direct are good. They even have a segment of the roller DVD on their site but you need to ring them to get the discount. Paintshop.ie in Ireland were supportive too - have spoken to them.

is it ok to use regular paint brushes where the roller wont go as cannot find the sponge brushes anywhere
