Hey all,
Happy new year to you, hope its a good one!
I have a skylight type thing on my van but it leaks as the previous owner left it up and drove under a height restriction into a car park and cracked it it multiple places.
I have been looking for a new one but it must be some old weird size as i can't seem to find one to replace it.
Anyone know where to find one of these? or will it be a case or having to cut a different size hole to accommodate a new size roof thing?
The size of the hole in the van is 48cm x 33cm and the thing looks like this

I would be tempted to take it out and repair with a fibre glass repair kit, the one with the glass fibre sheets and resin, then spray it with a clear sealant. Definately worth a go if you cant find a replacement and saves cutting a larger hole.

i have tried this, patched up all the holes and cracks with fibreglass but it is still leaking in from somewhere and I can't work out where from.TONYT25T25 wrote: ↑03 Jan 2022, 22:42 I would be tempted to take it out and repair with a fibre glass repair kit, the one with the glass fibre sheets and resin, then spray it with a clear sealant. Re: Weird size Skylight / roof Vent
Most probably it is an old HEKI roof vent with 35x50 cm nominal size:

Multiple cracks and finding a leak are difficult unless you sit in the van and wait for it to rain, maybe worth going down the "leak and seal" liquid route. I used some on mine where I suspected the leak originated and it appears to have worked, you just have to be cautious of its spread as it does tend to run. Also be wary of any drips from it as it can spoil any coverings or fabric.

a bit more inspection and it looks like it may actually be coming in from where the screws hold the top on. it only uses metal washers against the plastic so I may have a go at that leak and seal stuff and see if that works!
