South African Paint Code & MCodes

Post by RobinM »

Hi, hoping someone can shed some light on the paint code for our South African camper. It's a 1983 CI Caravans camper, and I need to repaint the cills and around the windows. I can't find a paint code on the ID plate that corresponds to a European/ UK vehicle.
It's a cream colour and the nearest seems to be Ivory 569 or B9. I've read elsewhere that the SA factory used unique paint codes, and something like Cameo 013 might be the one, but no-one seems to stock this. Is this the same as Ivory?
The ID plate is (not sure how to insert a photo!):
W-36
254G EA 115 5826
6-P13/240/S520/83
M7334/M7063/M1983
25DO 110 809
Also, anyone have any ideas on the M Codes?
It's an amazingly solid chassis, no corrosion, just needs some tidying up
Thanks in advance for any help
Robin

B9A is Candy White, unfortunately the codes aren't listed in ETOS and the colour and interior codes are only listed for 1993-1997, and VW SA are generally less than helpful when you ask for help from the UK in my experience

I think if you did get the correct colour it would show up anyway as the rest of the paint on your van would have faded by now, maybe worth taking it to a paint dealer who mix their own colours and can give you a couple of rattle cans.  If you need to add photos in the future this is how it is done.

Thanks for the replies, looks like I'll need to take the van to a paint dealer...
