Hi Everyone one!

I'm going to use this thread to document the gradual restoration of our 1990 GL Caravelle.

It's in good condition for its age especially underneath, it looks to have see very few salt road miles but is obviously shows signs of its age. So! The plan is to restore and document as we go along. This isn't our first vw restoration rodeo, but we are new to T3s.

All comments and inputs greatly received!

~Ben

What else have you restored? It’s fun to do until you’ve spent 3 times the vans Value and it’s only half finished :o

We've got 3 beetles aswell, one has become a donor and the other two are runners, a '68 & '72.

The '72 has had the most work carried out currently, I built a nice 1776 engine for it last year with alot of detail, its had all the usual suspect areas repaired after previous owners dubious quality repairs, and repainted. The '68 is stock and will be repainted in its original chinchilla grey.

...3 times the value of the van, and years of your life carring out work that no one will ever be able to see, nor would notice if they could see! You deffentially have to be passionate about it!

Cheers! I've started this to force myself to take photos along the way, as usually I've found and solved issues with no photos or documentation of progress!
