Anyone have any advice/experience on the best material for new seat covers?
I've got early T4 seats and I've managed to find someone who will make some new covers for me - they use either vinyl or leather. Leather will obviously be expensive and wasn't really what I was thinking of, but I'm a bit concerned vinyl may be a bit hot during the summer when sat in for long periods. Anyone used this as a material on their seat covers/re-upholstery? Cheers.

Yes mine is vinyl & they can get uncomfortably hot if left in the sun, but I cannot see leather being any different. Only a problem if you are wearing shorts

I prefer textiles rather than leather or vinyl

Mine are cloth, which I cover with a wooden bead seat covering, helps for air circulating and quite comfortable.

Cheers all. I definitely prefer the idea of a cloth covering but unless you make them yourself they seem really expensive to get made up.

Re: Best material for seat covers
Hi, I want all my seats refurbished too.
Had a chat with owner of this T25
(parked up outside shop I was exiting)
T25 for sale gumtree swansea.
I am going to go for this, looks like an 80,s style as iirc the Beatle seats were of a similar type of material
Iirc this is a vynal mesh finish, breathable and woven effect.
I was told seats were reupholsterd for aprox £400 in all
After sitting you would have pattern on legs ( backside as well if your a nudist ) but less of a hot seat from sun exposure.
Check what material the upholsters have available.
Good luck

They look really good. The company I'm hoping to use have alcantara (faux suede) as an option for the centre pieces so think I'll go for that with vinyl on the wings.
