Not just particular to T25's windscreen but other vehicles, has anybody found a good product for removing the smears from the inside of the windscreens, annoyingly it only shows up when directly in sunlight or at night when dazzled by oncoming traffic, so difficult to see if your cleaning methods have been effective until back in that environment.  Have seen sponge like items for sale on ebay but wondering if snake oil.

Thanks, tried that but still leaves residual what ever is on it, heard that it is a known issue and is related to the plastic on the dash breaking down is a cause.

My wife's Hyundai Kona suffered badly with just the thing you describe. I tried wet wipes, vinegar, meths and even shaving foam. Nothing shifted it. In the end, and out of desperation, I used clean dry wipes and rubbed the screen in small areas really hard. Bit by bit I successfully removed the film of whatever it was and now the screen is all but clear. Just persevere.

Thanks to all, lot to try, had a look on ebay and product there called "Mr Clean Magic Eraser" looks promising if not a bit expensive, again is this snake oil or has somebody tried it.

Thanks I wonder if previously the dash/dashes had been sprayed with cleaner which has somehow contaminated the inside of the windscreen.  I don't use that stuff but previous owners may have.

That is my theory. We bought the car second hand. I recon the dealers may have been over zealous with the dash polish.

Annoyingly you give it what you think is a good clean, only to find out when you next drive it and the sun shines on it or other lights, there appears to be no difference.
 

First noted in fjords in the early seventies , believed to be some product in the plastic of the dash and interior vaporising off...(was a corsair so wish the whole lot had vapoured of it was a lemon to sell on....

I just asked my mate Barry and he recommended Cillit Bang.

Acetone, dichloromethane (mmnmm... remembered from my apprenticeship days) or any other nice aromatic solvents..

With all them ingredients mentioned even if they don't clean up, the van will smell nice.

Cellulose paint thinner on a rag should remover any chemical grease. Then a wipe with a water based cleaner for the final finish.
