Vw t25 hitop westfalia window install

Hello all,
Has anyone ever fitted a front sky light window to the hitop on a vwt25 westfalia camper? I can't get the top side of the new rubber surround to stay in place in order to allow me to fit the double glazed plastic window. The close proximity of internal ceiling lining to the top of the window is preventing a decent housing of the rubber seal, so it keeps falling out. I did remove some old silicone from the edge of the fibre glass opening after I removed the existing rubber seal so maybe its supposed to be siliconed in before the window is fitted? Gave 6hrs the other day at it and have finally thrown in the towel. Any help/advise appreciated. Cheers. Brian
