Best replacement body panels

Post by ricp »

Hi again after a while.  Having done engine, replaced roof and other bits, I must face the elephant on the drive.  I need to start working my way through some rusty panels and seams before they get away from me.
Therefore, who produces the best quality replacement panels for my t25?  I’m probably looking for a rear wheel arch or 2, a front wheel arch and the odd side panel.  For a start!

I have an array of panels.

Klokkerholm front corner panels from Just Kampers.

Left and right door steps and front left arch from Schofields...

And genuine VW front outrigger panels from Brickwerks.

All parts were couriered to my works, and were well packaged. They all arrived un-damaged.

There is a huge difference in quality between the top notch original VW parts and the rest.
They are thicker and have a protective coating.

Both the Schofields and Klokkerholm parts "felt" quite thin in comaprison, but overall fit is pretty good.

The top names are Heritage, Schofields and Brickwerks.

Just Kampers appear to get a bad reputation, but so far I have been lucky with purchases from them.

Also - if Plasticman sends you a PM, it probably means he can help you find better prices or better quality panels. He seriously knows his stuff.
1983 Tin Top with a poorly DF and 4 speed DT box.
1987 Electrics and a DJ engine.
Maybe one day I might get it finished
