Panel protector trim removal and clips

I have just purchased a t3 which has big bumpers and what I believe are called protection trim for side panels.. Or sideskirts to me. I have yet to collect it and wanted to ge a headstart on how to remove theses as I belive a few of the clips are missing and wanted to order replacements

There is a nut and bolt you undo from under the panel.

Excellent thanks guys what manual is that from is item 5 a pop rivet

item 5 is a pop rivet, the rivet holds the brackets on that the skirts are attached to, lay on the floor look up into the skirt you should see some 10mm nuts, if you dont it could be an aftermarket kit glued on

Thanks I'm collecting my new van on Tuesday its definitely not glued on and does have those brackets. Looking forward to starting work on it.

Probably a good idea to regularly remove and clean behind the side planks, they can hide all sorts of nasties!

Thanks for all the advise soaked bolts in penetrating oil and removed panels... All clips present just the pop rivets crodded into nothing so just need to replace them..

As I detest pop rivets I've attached my brackets with rivnuts and studs, all stainless.
Why would the glass be anything other than half full?

'89 panel van, 1.9 DG.
