Well a bit of an update -
It appears that I have a type B glove box lock.

Here is ours...

Sadly no key to fit it.
And I have no idea what profile.
Catcar lists three different profiles.
111 837 219A - S73 = profile SC
111 837 219A - S74 = profile SU
111 837 219A - S75 = profile SV

As the wife says - The fact that nothing is as expected or should be "adds to the quirkiness of the van"

You might have to dismantle the lock further to get the number off the barrel...... if it is marked at all.

With the help of YouTube and Covkid I recently referred my locks so they all fit the 1 key. I've still to do the ignition and fuel cap (ordering a new fuel cap soon) and I can honestly say yes a really easy job. The major problem I had is that 2 of the barrels were so badly corroded the brass wafers were not coming out for love nor money.

Thus, I need a new barrel for the sliding door. Is the image above of a slider barrel and if so, where are they purchased from?

As a side note, locks rebuilt with new wafers feel bloody marvellous when you insert a key, it's a job well worth doing.

I have refurbished my cab door locks with moderate ease.
The front passenger lock is okay. Could do with two wafers and four springs to get a full repair.

The passenger lock - all gummed up and seized together.

The drivers door lock barrel cleaned up easily and was in good overall condition.

Driver's door lock before stripping.

The sliding door lock barrel refused to budge.
I even drilled out the retaining grub-screw to no avail.
So for me - it is as good as scrap.

I could not find any numbers stamped or engraved on any of my wafers from the cab doors, but I am sure that I can suss out which ones I need.

The ignition lock and tailgate lock are fine, so I will just clean and lube them.

As for stuff flying out in all directions.
I found that I had to help most of the wafers out of the barrel... and every single spring needed to be teased out of it's bore.

I think to get the lock barrel out of my sliding door handle I had to turn the key so it was unlocked for it to slide out.

If I recall right anyway, mighta just been muck in it for all I know though.

After getting new locks for my van I found it quite a nice job to do in an odd way.

That is another problem with my lock barrel.
It is so seized up, that I can barely get the key all the way in, nevermind get it to turn.

I may just go for an aftermarket handle, and get some wafers to fit.

As soon as I can see how many of each wafer number I will need.

As mentioned by so many people.
The removal, cleaning and configuring of the wafers is super easy...
But only if you have a serviceable lock barrel that you can get out and work with.

Maybe sit it in some petrol for 24 hours, might get the gunk moving, unless it's rusted solid.

I left mine submerged in petrol for days to no avail.  Whatever the crud is, it's solid and no easily dissolved.

I think I'm correct in saying original wafers aren't numbered.  The only way to identify them is to compare them with aftermarket ones (these have a number stamped on them).
