Sliding Door Track Cover Brackets

Post by glasshopper »

Hello.
I wonder if anyone can help - I have made my van bodywork a lockdown restoration project. I have a slight issue - the RHS brackets for my sliding door track cover were so badly corroded they no longer exist. This is for the drivers side of my vehicle which does not have a sliding door, I cannot find new brackets anywhere.

Does anyone know where I might be able to find these brackets or can someone provide dimensions for me to get some new brackets fabricated please?

Tx.

On my early air cooled they were literally 15mm wide steel strips bent at 90. With a tab that matches on the cover and a self rapper that connects the 2. Not sure if these are OG. But I welded 4 more the same back on . 2 per side. Think it was about 30-40mm long on the body and then comes out probably 15-20mm for the panel to join. I wouldn’t try and buy some they weren’t complex. Hope this helps

Thanks for your reply, the dimensions are useful.
I will get some made up and fitted to the van.

Cheers.
