I know this topic has been covered to death..!
My recently restored/ resprayed van has a leaky screen.
New good quality seal fitted, with proper screen sealant.. with the recent downpours it is persisting in..
Could try and reseal whilst fitted, but past experience tells me otherwise.. The near side corner doesn’t seem to have seated as snugly as the others..
New seal ordered, OE spec, fingers crossed it does the trick..
Here’s hoping....

Re: Leaking Screen
My recollection from a few years ago was Vewib was the best and most recommended, from Volkswagen Emporium

And Arbomast Autograde sealant. Horrible black gunge that never sets. I think I applied the sealant under the exterior edge between rubber and metal. JK seals were warned against, as not pliable enough.
I also remember patiently (very gently) tapping round the seal with a wooden mallet or rubber mallet to get it to seat before and after applying the sealant.
Good luck, you’ve done well so far!

Cheers..!
Was a brickwerks seal if memory serves, not the cheapest but OE quality.... apparently
Did apply the arbormast sealant, though from what I can see it seems to have semi set and is crumbling, if that makes sense..
New seal bought from campervanculture, recommendations on here, vw emporium had no stock sadly.
As the weather seems to be improving into next week will refit and cross fingers!
Also have to seal the aerial mounts, though the amount of water ingress and area is def screen related!
In other news... just got the birch ply interior to varnish and flooring to lay and she’s done.. never thought I’d be saying that......

Re: Leaking Screen
Mine was leaking in the passenger side, the seal on the corners wasn't sat right so a few taps with a rubber hammer did the trick, no more water.

Re: Leaking Screen
Tried the hammer tip, but no joy.
Think it’s due to the sealant applied when fitting last time..
Hopefully when refitted it’s ok.

Re: Leaking Screen
doesnt matter who supplied the seal or any claims as to quality , in my book if it has a "veewib" label on it then fit it, if not dont, not worth risking a screen for the cost of a seal , cut it out
