Sliding door seals

Post by SamT »

Hello all,
I’m restoring an 84 twin slider . The Vin states it was built as a camper , there is a full bulkhead, no back windows and no rear seat belt fixings.
This confuses me as I’ve read campers should have rear seat belt fixings.
I bought 2x Sliding Door Seal 80->. Fits Left or Right. 252-843-791AB From Alan Schofield as per the OEM number but cannot get the seals and glass to fit over both skins of the door window opening.
The perished seals that I removed were the H type but didn’t cover the inner skin.
Were the windows cut in as a modification . Was the van not a camper I doubt anyone changed the VIN plate .
Does anyone know how to fit the seals , do I have to use the H seals ( not ideal) or am I missing something obvious

Any help would be really grateful
Cheers

Sam

Sounds like you have a panel van that was converted to a camper from new, you will need different seals, have you got a picture of your window aperture with the window out

Yeah That’s a panel van conversion window , you need a different seal, the 2 edges don’t come together, you have the window seal on the outer and another seal/ trim on the inner
