Sliding door middle hinge seal

Post by vialde »

Hello,

I'm doing some maintenance on my sliding door, the middle hinge was actually popping out because of a worn guide _and_30 some odd years of grease and dirt in the channel.  When I removed the hinge from the door, I discovered that it looked nothing like the hinges I've seen in the videos I'm watching. I now understand what "early' means.  So I've got an early '83 t25...great.  when I removed the hinge there was a seal or boot that looked like it was made of foam, it was actually perished rubber, that came out with it and promptly disintegrated into dust.  I'm struggling to find a replacement, there's no mention anywhere online or in the shops as far as I can tell.  Anyone have any experience with these?

Cheers,

seal is nla, just get some foam closure tape and make one, closure tape is self adhesive on one side 10mm would probably be the right size

it is spot welded to the main part, the complete outer sill on the sliding door is made up iirc of either 11 or 17 bits of metal welded together to make one assembly
