Definitely agree with Mocki. Just replaced steering rack bushes with whiteline bushes, very easy to do while you are on.
Found using a hole saw part way on old bush made them very easy to push out with thumb pressure only.

Bit cheaper than powerflex, got mine from driftworks

I failed to say earlier that I had replaced all bushes on the front end with the brickweks offerfrom a few years back ,however the spoiler thingy did make an improvement .
Probably testified by a T5 owner when we went past him at 90+ on the A1 near Wetherby :ok
The look on his and partners face was priceless.

Got to admit my Hightop 2.1 WBX  blows about a bit at speed on the motorway if only lightly  loaded. But loaded for touring holidays - proverbial Kitchen sink, adequate tool kit and supply of baked beans etc, it puts me in mind of the old wooden war galleons in a bit of a blow. 8)

Feeling the buffeting being resisted by the sheer bulk and mass of materials thundering along around 70 MPH can be quite exhilarating for me at times. In fact I sometimes find myself humming the Hebrides Overture much to the irritation of Mrs Bean.

I might have to invest in one of these at somepoint, I've noticed at 50mph+ the van buffets about a bit.

I’ve seen one for sale in the last two days somewhere ..... can’t remember where tho , maybe book face ....
they don’t come up very often at a sensible price without the greedy scene tax

TONYT25T25 wrote: 11 Jul 2020, 17:18 Just come across this post, since buying my camper always felt unsafe on motorway especially certain parts of M27 even driving at between 50 and 60 felt as if I was fighting against a side wind, does fitting this spoiler alleviate this.

It might be worth taking a look at your front bushes, as others have suggested - a front spoiler can help with handling, but it won't make that much difference if your front end bushes are worn out. Replacing the one's on the steering rack is generally viewed as making the most difference to handling, but that's assuming the other bushes are in decent condition.

Problem is, if someone sells one for cheap most likely someone else will buy it and sell it for more.

Good luck finding just a middle bit to complete it.

I would get creative with some similar material, it’s only a 5 inch gap .....

I guess a heat gun, some plastic and a bit of time could get you something half decent. I deffo don't need anything adding to my list of "to do" at the moment though.

Some really useful info in this thread. Cheers all. Looking at fitting one myself and thinking the most straightforward way is to purchase the Brickwerks one. Am I right in thinking it’ll fit all vans? Mine’s a converted panel van that goes a wandering at higher speeds. Changed the steering rack bushes already and hope this will also help.

Be a good idea to replace all the bushes if possible, assuming non of the others have been done that you know of.
Sounds daft , but check air pressure in tyres aswell.

That’s not daft - partially inflated tyres have more flex in their side walls than fully inflated ones.
