Sliding door buffer
Hi
Bought a rubber buffer for the sliding door, 1986 .
Can someone shed some light on where it goes?.
It fits on the middle rail somewhere. It’s black rubber, 5p diameter, and locates in a hole that’s around 6mm.
I know it should be easy to see where, but......
Thanks!

Re: Sliding door buffer
it goes into the meatal rail that's welded to the van, look at the end closest to the sliding door and you will see the hole , assuming its missing

that's a later runner, the earlier runner has the little rubber buffer

86 van should have late runners.
The exploded diagrams shows two buffers one J shaped onder (nr 10), that is on the pic, and an additional round stopper (nr 2) which exact location is unknown yet but I remember its on the inner side of this rail end just where the spring is.

The runner is definitely a late version, but certainly no apparent place for this stop to live..!

I don’t think there was ever a hole there??
Am not sure that’s where it would go anyway as the door rollers would foul as the door closed..

Re: Sliding door buffer
Just double checked..
Def not a covered hole..
Behind the inner spring, once the hinge rollers are in place it’s hard to see any kind of bump stop fitting, so inclined to think it just has the J type fitted..

Re: Sliding door buffer
I had mine uncovered last night for a cleanup and grease, early RHD door. Think these are the holes? One of mine has a rubber plug in it, there's another empty.. should there be two plugs?
