Undertray sound deadening

Hi, I’ve taken out and cleaned up the undertray with the sound deadening insulation(chip foam). Just reading through some old threads and there was an eBay link to a land rover sound deadening material.
Just wondering if anybody has replaced this chip foam with a more modern alternative?
Regards Gerard

I don’t have a tray under mine,1983 dg, just the foam stuff. It looks like it’s held in with extremely thin wire that is on it’s last legs. I saw a post on Facebook that had self adhesive foam pads, not sure if they’re the same one’s you mentioned. I’ll have a search and see what comes up.

It looks like most people are putting it on the inside and not underneath.

with some google searching "engine sound deadening" shows some promising self adhesive closed cell foams with bubbly surface.
Although IMO the old reconstituted foam sheet works well and you can buy new. BW had form cut ones (out of stock now) but not a big deal to cut a new one from the plain sheet you can buy from almost anywhere.

Only foam left on mine also did not realise it had a metal cover, keeps on sagging so will have to look on where to secure it better?? does leaving it in place allow moisture to build up and therefore corrosion??
